Kemin Leads Amino Acid Event Series in Spain
Global ingredient company lends expertise and gathers international leaders for dialogue on successful amino acid implementation

HERENTALS, Belgium (July 10, 2018) – Kemin Industries, a global nutritional ingredient company that uses science to touch more than 3.8 billion people every day with its products and services, held an event series last week in San Lorenzo del Escorial, Madrid, and had 155 Kemin customers from 25 different countries attend.

The seminar brought together industry leaders under one roof to share cutting-edge, relevant research in amino acids. Among the speakers were Dr. Michael Van Amburgh of Cornell University, Dr. Hélène Lapierre of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Dr. José Eduardo P. Santos of the University of Florida and researchers of international repute, who shared the latest knowledge that is already being applied through Kemin across the EMENA region. The focus of the talks was to provide new vistas in amino acid nutrition for sustainable dairy profits.

“The management of dairy farms is continuously seeking a balance between income and costs. Milk is not a regional product, but the cornerstone of healthy nutrition,” said Stefaan Van Dyck, President, Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health, EMENA. “In this globalized and consolidating economy, the industry must exert improved financial control of farms, as well as undertake processes of improvement in production cost, nutrition, food safety, animal health and management. It may require continuous exploration of different technologies and strategies.”

“When animals are underfed, it damages productivity, including reductions in product quality. Over-provisioning of nutrients may be costlier than deficiencies, production may be limited and the cost of food will be higher,” said Javier Mateos Aguado, Senior Ruminant Business Manager, Kemin Animal Nutrition and Health, EMENA. “The goal is to achieve the highest possible accuracy while meeting the requirements and avoiding excesses. Less waste is produced during this new amino acid formulation approach, preventing environmental pollution and unnecessary waste. New insights on milk and protein production, reproduction, immunity, casein production and small ruminant nutrition were addressed during the Kemin seminar, and these insights open a window of opportunity for exploring the full benefits of Lysine and Methionine nutrition.”

For more than a decade, Kemin has been dedicated to providing the best products, tools and knowledge for the most profitable implementation of amino acid nutrition in ruminants. Within the Kemin Life Long Learning Program, Kemin is constantly providing science, along with useful tools, to its customers for amino acid implementation, with the sole aim of being the reference in ruminant amino acid formulation for the nutritionists and technicians throughout the entire dairy market.
