The new building, a $30 million investment, completes a five-year, $125.5 million overall investment in the Kemin Des Moines facilities.
The new headquarters is the final extension of the state-of-the-art Molecular Advancement Center Research Facility, which opened in July 2013.
The 94,000 square-foot building houses workspaces, laboratories, collaboration areas and a fitness center.
More than 500 Des Moines-based Kemin employees moved into the worldwide headquarters in February 2017.
Located in the emerging development area of the southeast corridor near downtown Des Moines.
Founded in 1961 by R.W. and Mary Nelson, Kemin has been located in the southeast corridor of Des Moines since its first office was located in a wool warehouse just one block from the new headquarters. After more than half a century, Kemin continues to invest in the Des Moines community, while growing strategically around the globe.
Kemin currently has manufacturing facilities in nine countries, serves customers in 120 countries and more than 2,000 employees worldwide.
